It is true what they say that we never know how we will meet the love of our lives, that special someone we will commit the rest of our lives to. Two Philippine nationals, Michael and Maricris, who recently walked down the aisle met in Uganda.
The bride, Maricris told Mikolo that she met Michael “through his sister when he arrived in Uganda”.
Although they both come a heritage that doesn’t hold customary weddings, the two lovebirds held a kukyala. Their kukyala “was around April”. It was however “no special function just, a simple dinner between both families,” according to the bride.
Five months later, after their families’ acquaintance dinner, the couple exchanged vows in a beautiful church ceremony at Our Lady of Africa, Mbuya on Saturday, September 28th, 2019.
They then hosted their beloved invited guests at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, where they had their reception.
Maricris advises couples planning their weddings to “just keep it simple, no need to spend so much. You wouldn’t want to wake up the following day with an empty pocket and debts to pay.”
