On Saturday 6th July 2019, Rwanda was filled with joy as President Paul Kagame’s daughter Angel Ingabire Kagame walked down the aisle in a beautiful and private white wedding ceremony in the country’s town of Kabuga at the Intare Conference Arena.
Angel got married to her fiancé Bertrand Ndengeyingoma commonly known as Billy, a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a trained urban planner and architect, who is currently pursuing his PhD at the London School of Economics.
“I have found the one whom my soul loves– Songs of Solomon 3:4”, Angel tweeted to her handle in caption to one of their wedding photos.
Last year in December, Angel and Billy, who works with Bank of Rwanda held their traditional wedding (giveaway ceremony) at President Kagame’s country home in the Southeastern province of the Land of a Thousand Hills near Lake Muhazi.
Sources in Kigali say that the two royal-like lovebirds first exchanged their vows on June 8th in a civil wedding at Kigali City Council offices.
Angel is the second born and only daughter in Rwanda’s first family. The 25-year-old is a political science graduate from Smith College, Massachusetts and also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University.
